Aussie beer drinkers are paying more tax than multinational gas corporations exporting our resources. That’s just not fair – especially when Australians are under huge cost-of-living pressures from interest rate rises, rent increases, rising fuel costs, and climate impacts.
Join us at City Square in Melbourne on Friday May 8 for a snap action to call on the Albanese government to tax gas exports. It’s time to tax gas greed.
Bring your mates and hand-written signs with your favourite slogans, e.g: “Tax Gas, Not Beer” or “Hey Albo, Don’t Cut NDIS, Tax Gas.”
Following the protest, attendees will head to the Young & Jackson pub to get a beverages of your choice and join a social media swarm.
Event supported by the Australian Conservation Foundation, GetUp!, Friends of the Earth, Environment Victoria, and Green Music Australia.
* This community action will occur on the land of the Wurundjeri people. We pay our respects to elders past and present.
